All class activities are therefore communicative. The exam primarily evaluates comprehension and production of spoken French. It is necessary for classroom instruction to be in French, and students must express themselves in French as much as possible. Reading and writing activities are also part of the program. A French-English dictionary will be helpful for homework and projects. There will also be other supplies required throughout the semester (advance notice will be given)
You are expected to be prepared for class with all materials needed for class on hand.
You will be given ample notice before tests. Being present is your responsibility. A make-up test may be written with an excusable absence. Unexcused absence will result in a zero.
All major assignmentsmust be completed. Failure to do so will be an administrative issue, and marks will be taken off. Major Assignments that are late will result in 40% of the possible grade being deducted. It will still be mandatory to pass in the given assignment for evaluation. It is of your benefit to get them in on time and completed to specifications. Incomplete assignments will not be accepted.
If you are away for an extended period of time due to illness, please contact me to get your missed work or arrange to get work to take with you.
Extra help can be arranged at noon or after school, please see me to arrange a convenient time.
The passing grade for all high school courses is 60%. An exemption is possible in this course but is at teacher discretion.

I do not have an assigned classroom. If you need to find me during the school day, I may be in the library classroom, near the exit of the library, or in room A 180.
French Department LATE ASSIGNMENT POLICY This policy applies to all students enrolled in any course in the LHHS French Department.
All work is required to be completed and on time otherwise a “zero” mark will be given until such time that the work is completed.
Failure to submit major assignments on time will result in contact with home as soon as possible.
If a student submits an assignment one or more days late it will be marked out of 60%. This means that 40% of the total grade for that assignment will be deducted after it is evaluated.
If a student needs an extension due to unforeseen circumstances, the student must inform the teacher, prior to the due date of their need for an extension. At that time, the teacher will evaluate the reason and either grant or deny the extension based on the circumstances. Extensions are in no way guaranteed and will only be granted in exceptional situations and at the subject teacher’s discretion.
IMPORTANT: Any major assignment handed in late will result in the immediate loss of eligibility for exemption from the exam in that particular course.
